It’s Complicated

We take so much of our world for granted. The roads we drive on, the abundance of food in our stores, the relief of pain and the remedy of infection are experienced with little to no thought as to how they came about and at what price. Highly creative and magnanimous discoveries have served as a cover-up for greed and destruction, leaving such discoveries with a mixed legacy. This book pulls back some of those layers of history and legacy in order to help us see our modern world in a more-informed light.

It’s Complicated is for the history enthusiast and scientifically curious. It is an approachable, illustrative, and light exploration of topics such as the Haber-Bosch process of creating synthetic nitrogen.
It’s Complicated attempts to face our complex relationship to a world of our own making—for better and for worse.
